As an appointed member of Manhattan Community Board 8, Lynne Strong-Shinozaki joins 49 other board members to advocate on behalf of their constituents. A resident of Roosevelt Island, Lynne Strong-Shinozaki has a long history of representing her neighbors.
In addition to the community board, Ms. Strong-Shinozaki’s activities include membership in the Roosevelt Island Community Emergency Response Team and board membership in the Roosevelt Island Community Coalition. She also stands out as a longtime member of the Roosevelt Island Residents Association, in which she serves as vice president.
Ms. Strong-Shinozaki has been an elected member of the New York State Democratic Committee since 2013. In this role, she works to advance issues important to her fellow New York State residents.
In acknowledgment of her community involvement, Ms. Strong-Shinozaki has received proclamations from both the New York City Council and the New York State Assembly. This year, the latter body commended her again when it issued a citation recognizing her as one of its 2017 Women of Distinction.
